The Grant County History Museum welcomes Lt. Col.Ted Behncke to speak on
The Life of General Custer
Ted’s interest in Custer began at the age of seven and has continued since then. He has been to the Little Bighorn National Monument numerous times and he has led a staff ride there with soldiers and leaders for Battlefield interpretation in conjunction with the National Park Service. He has also retraced the steps of the 7th U.S. Cavalry in the western United States and has written and spoken on the topic to historical groups across the U.S. He wrote the book, Custer: from the Civil War Boy General to the Little Bighorn with a friend in the year 2020.
It will also be a great opportunity to see the Museum’s beaded elk skin blanket, believed to be a relic from the 1876 Battle of the Little Big Horn.
